Position fix from three GPS satellites and altitude: a direct method

A method to find a direct solution to GPS equations given four pseudo-range measurements and satellite positions is given by L.O. Krause [1987]. This method is modified here to find a direct solution given three pseudo-ranges and satellite positions and altitude above the reference ellipsoid.
