Predictive pixel differencing expansion in data reversibility scheme

The differencing expansion (DE) scheme can lead to a lossless pixel after secret data exacting. However, despite achieving pixel reversibility based on concept of expanded differencing, DE scheme can cause enormous image distortion since the differencing is large. This work describes a novel reversible data hiding by considering the relation between pixel and its neighboring pixel, and using the predictor to identify the predicted error. Consequently, image distortion is decreased and a high image quality is maintained by selecting the minimal predictor based on pixel expansion. Analytical results demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed scheme in increasing the embedding capacity and maintaining at higher image quality than in previous works. The multilayer concept is also applied to achieve higher capacity.
