An apparatus and a method for recommending user customized contents are provided to recommend optimized contents suitable for a contents request time and taste of the user according to an inference result through social network analysis information between users, user profile and situation information of the user. A user profile management unit(111) produces a user profile for forming an initial social network. A social network management unit(131) provides a preference contents list about another user forming the social network. A situation information recognition unit(141) determines contents characteristic according to the situation information of the user. An inference engine unit(150) provides a contents recommendation list simultaneously satisfying the preference contents list and contents group to the user.
