Study on Novel VBLAST Detection Algorithm for MIMO-OFDM System

A novel constellation mapping VBLAST zero-forcing(ZF) detection algorithm is proposed for MIMO-OFDM system,in which cycle and successive mapping of constellation points from the entire space were made at the receiver,as the first detected underlying signals,to maximize the performance of the first detected layer.And for remaining received signals,traditional ZF detection algorithm were used.A set of optimal detection signals was defined as decoding result based on the maximum likelihood criterion.The proposed algorithm overcomes disadvantages of ML and ZF algorithms in complexity and performance.Simulation results showed that the algorithm had a superior performance over ZF algorithm,a 3-4 dB improvement for a bit error rate of 10-3 and lower complexity.
