The median function on distributive semilattices

Abstract Continuing with the program to characterize the median function (f(x 1 ,…,x k ) = {x : ∑ i = 1 k d(x, x i ) is minimum }) on various finite metric spaces, we present a characterization when the metric space is a finite distributive semilattice endowed with the standard lattice metric.
