Applications of Ultrasonic Spectroscopy to Materials Evaluation

The determination of flaw size and shape is becoming increasingly important in nondestructive evaluation of materials. No longer is it sufficient merely to locate flaws, but a more definitive description of flaws is required for input into sophisticated design analysis which will give a better assessment of the probability of failure and hence reduce the number of costly components.
