Highly Efficient Multimedia Decoding Technique for Applications in Mobile Terminals

Implementing multimedia decoding with low power consumption in mobile terminals is very important to wireless applications. This paper proposes optimized modules which may be widely applied in multimedia decoding, including Huffman decoding and re-quantization. In particular, the decoding algorithms for MPEG audio layer III are well implemented with a dual-core embedded processor, showing a high efficiency of the algorithm and system. Besides, the system design provides effective modules and demonstration example for multimedia applications as well
