Random-neighbor-search based optimal planning for distribution networks with wind power

With the continuous effort of exploiting wind energy, a higher penetration of wind power will be integrated into networks in the form of distributed generation. In order to well plan the integration of wind power and the network, the randomness of wind power as well as its influence to the whole distribution networks should be considered. As a result, traditional optimal planning approach for distribution networks should be modified and supplemented. In the first part of the paper, a detailed analysis for wind power characteristic and its influence to distribution network planning were discussed. In the second part, through variation of sampling wind power and load, the chance-constrained model of distribution networks was introduced. At last, an improved algorithm based on random-neighbour-search was proposed to implement optimal planning for distributional network structure. The results of case study show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
