Executive Summary g a methodological approach for Pricing Flood insurance and Evaluating Loss reduction measures: application to texas ii About the lead authors of this study (alphabetical order): Jeffrey Czajkowski serves in a dual role at the Wharton risk management and Decision Processes center as the travelers research Fellow and Willis re research Fellow. Prior to his position at the risk center, Dr. czajkowski was an assistant professor of economics at austin college. through September 2009 he was recognized as an adjunct assistant research professor at Fiu's international Hurricane research center, where he was awarded two National Oceanic and atmospheric administration Florida Hurricane alliance research grants. He holds an m.S. in Environmental and urban Systems, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Florida international university (Fiu). Wharton School, and co-director of the Wharton risk management and Decision Processes center. He has a long-standing interest in ways that society can better manage low-probability, high-consequence events related to technological and natural hazards. Dr. Kunreuther is a member of the World Economic Forum's Global agenda council on insurance and asset management for 2011– 2012, and in 2009–2010 served as co-chair of the Forum's Global agenda council on Leadership and innovation for reducing risks from Natural Disasters. He is a Fellow of the american association for the advancement of Science, and a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for risk analysis, receiving the Society's Distinguished achievement award in 2001. His most recent books are Learning from catastrophes: Strategies for reaction and response (with m. useem), and at War with the Weather (with E. michel-Kerjan). Erwann O. Michel-Kerjan is managing director of the Wharton School's risk management and Decision Processes center, and teaches value creation in the Wharton mBa program. He is also chairman of the OEcD Secretary-General Board on Financial management of catastrophes, which advises its thirty-four member countries on these issues. Dr. michel-Kerjan was named a young Global Leader (yGL) by the World Economic Forum (Davos), an honor bestowed to recognize and acknowledge the most extraordinary leaders of the world under the age of 40; he currently co-leads the Global risks component of the G20 yGL Paris initiative under the High Patronage of President Sarkozy. He has worked extensively on terrorism, hurricane and flood insurance and how to reduce america's exposure and the need for federal disaster relief.
