Study on Noise of IC Engine Using Independent Component Analysis

The basic principle of independent component analysis(ICA) was reviewed.The feasibility of applying ICA to the noise analysis of internal combustion engine was discussed.The kurtosis values of acoustic signals from engine can satisfy the basic precondition of ICA.Then the acoustic signals were separated to different independent components.By using the FFT and the wavelet transform(WT),the relationship between different independent components and different noise sources of the engine can be identified.
