Effects of ion and electron drifts on large amplitude solitary waves in a relativistic plasma

The effect of ion and electron drifts on the existence of arbitrary amplitude solitary waves is studied using Sagdeev’s pseudopotential method. It is found that if the electron drift velocity u0 is finite, solitary waves may exist for relatively large values of v0/c, where v0 is the ion drift velocity and c is the velocity of light.
