Polyposis-like Presentation of Multiple Lymphangiomas of the Sigmoid Colon

Lymphangiomas are benign vascular lesions mostly regarded as localized malformations which are thought to originate from sequestered lymph vessels 1,2. Besides cutaneous locations", lymphangiomas are most commonly encountered in the neck, while intraabdominal lymphangiomas are rarel-'. Lymphangiomas may be encountered sporadically in parenchymal organs I and in this context they also occur in the gastrointestinal tracr'" with a particularly low incidence in the colon and rectum". We here report a rare case of multiple lymphangiomas of the sigmoid colon with an unusual polyposis coli-like appearance in a 47-year-old male patient who was treated by surgical resection,
