A three-phase hybrid power filter with reactive power compensation

Focused on the power quality problems caused by variation of reactive power and harmonics, a three-phase hybrid power filter composed of a thyristor switched filter and an active power filter (APF) is researched, by which the reactive power can be continuously and dynamically compensated. A new control method is proposed and simulated. The simulation results show that the compensation character is very good.
