For the scheme design of the North Ring Road Overpass Bridge Spanning Railway in Qinhuangdao,4 bridges types(the continuous girder bridge,arch bridge,cable-stayed bridge and suspension bridge) are compared according to the conditions of the railway operation and environmental topography at the bridge site.From the comprehensive analysis of the spanning capacity and the influence of the construction process on the existing railway and landscape,it is finally determined that the cable-stayed bridge type and the rotary erection construction scheme should be adopted for the main bridge of the bridge.The cable-stayed bridge is designed as a structural system of rigidly fixed pylon and pier and separated pylon and girder.The span arrangement for the bridge is(160+114+46) m and the decks are arranged in two separated decks to carry dual 3 lanes.The main girder is the multi-cell single-box steel girder and the pylon is the reinforced concrete single-column pylon that is 87 m high and is of the hollow box section.The stay cables are arranged in fan shape in single cable plane,there are totally 22 pairs of the cables for the whole bridge and the typical spacing of the cables at the steel box girder of the main span is 12.0 m.The scheme design of the bridge is structurally rational,cost-saving and has the advantage of rapid construction without obstacle.
