Energy budget of the Sahelian surface layer

This paper presents a synthesis of results obtained during different measuring campaigns that were conducted in the Niamey area (Niger). These campaigns concerned the study of the atmospheric boundary layer and the surface layer. This synthesis focuses on the measurement of the energy budget and related problems. The effect of dust haze on the climatic parameter and on the energy budget components is shown and figures as an original contribution in this work. The radiative contribution to the heat flux in the surface layer is also indicated. Finally, pratical conclusions are drawn concerning the generalization of fixed point measurements from regional integration by means of airborne measurements
