Analysis of extreme temperature events in Central Europe related to high pressure blocking situations in 2001–2011

The connection between number of atmospheric blocking events over Northern Hemisphere and Euro-Atlantic region is strong, but there were years when number of blocking events over Euro-Atlantic region didn't follow the blocking trend over Northern Hemisphere.
