Microprocessor Automation of a Solid Set Irrigation Facility for Research and Demonstration

ABSTRACT Alow-cost microprocessor-based irrigation control system which monitors and controls sprinkler sets, protects the system, and utilizes weather data to improve its operating efficiency was developed using an Intel 80/30 computer. The system measured water pressure, flow rate, wind velocity and rainfall intensity and provided automatic control at a remote location.
