The design of cladding

Abstract The author asserts that cladding ought to be designed with specific reference to measured values of peak pressure on either side of the panel. In the measurement of peak values of pressure both the averaging time for the pressure and the frequency of occurrence must be selected. This paper suggests values to be used. In studying the coherence functions for pressure over the face of a building, an expression identical to that for the Strouhal Number is obtained and it is suggested that the frequency of vortex shedding is equal to the highest frequency with complete correlation over the width of the body.
