Knowledge-based sheet metal blanking process and 3D die structure design

In order to improve the quality and efficiency of sheet medal blanking process and die design and accomplish the reuse and shake of knowledge, intelligent and parametric design technology is studied systematically. The hybrid knowledge representation methods including data base, frame, rule, objected-oriented method and mathematical model are incorporated to represent process design knowledge, geometric model and data base are combined to represent die structure design knowledge; project-based dynamic design method is invented to support the intelligent design. Based on the proposed methodologies, combining the macro function and the API, the knowledge-based sheet metal blanking process and 3D die structure design support system is developed, and the specific design case proves the powerful functionalities of the developed system.
