AN ANALYSIS OF EMBRYONIC TRAPPING IN THE GERMAN COCKROACH

The relationship between embryonic lethals from translocation heterozygotes and sterility from embryonic trapping in oothecae of the German cockroach has been analyzed. A modified constrained regression gives a means of predicting the expected hatch from lethality caused by high genetic loads, as in double translocation heterozygotes. Complete sterility is predicted at about 82.1% lethality.
