These proceedings represent papers presented at the joint meeting of the International Association for Research and Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology and the American Physical Society Topical Group on shock compression of condensed matter. This conference dealt with the full spectrum of both static and dynamic high pressure investigations. Topics discussed include atomic and molecular structure, equations of state, phase transformations, material properties, chemistry and material synthesis, etc. Special considerations were given to the study of diamonds, fullerenes, hydrogen and iron. There were four hundred and sixty five papers presented at this conference, out of these, one hundred and thirteen have been abstracted for the Energy Science and Technology database. (AIP)
