Practical Application of Optical Instrument Transducer Used for the measurement of Rotor's Voltage and Current in Power Generator

The development of an optical instrument transducer to measure rotor's voltage and current in power generator is described in the paper. The system is based on A/D conversion and optical fiber transmission principle. The voltage/current signal from SCR bridge of an power generator is conditioned to ADC and than the digital signal from ADC is transmitted to local module through optical fiber. The uncertainty of the OIT is estimated to be less than 0.2% in ratio and the delay time of the step response is less than 7 ms.
