Orbital Liposarcoma

Liposarcomas are among the most common adult soft-tissue sarcomas, representing 15% to 18% of all malignant soft-tissue tumors.’ Less than 5% of liposarcomas initially occur in the head and neck. A recent report, however, identified only 76 cases initially occurring in the head and neck.2 More commonly they arise from the deep soft tissue of the extremities or the retroperitoneum. A total of 24 cases of primary orbital liposarcomas have been reported.)^' This case represents an additional report and provides the opportunity to review the literature on these unusual tumors.
