Progress in the Development of Electric Linear Drives Intended for Technological Applications

ABSTRACT The importance and advantages of electronically controlled electric linear drives as well as the necessity of system approach towards their use is stressed. The authors describe several types of linear drives. These linear drives include: an absolute oscillatory synchronous linear drive of the feeder of bulky material, an oscillatory reluctance linear drive of a liquid extractor, a stepping linear drive of a manipulator of an automatic welding machine and a d.c. linear drive of an equipment used in a precision manufacture of a components. Thus, the paper presents new and original concept in industrial application of automated electric linear drives. The importance of these linear drives lies especially in their enabling to design and construct better and more efficient working machines. The design of these machines is simpler and their function is improved.
