The method comprises the following steps of: detecting typical data which is actually measured by positioning to establish a local discharge module according to the local discharge of the switch cabinet; by taking a local discharge detecting instrument as a prototype, establishing a detecting instrument module for detecting the switch cabinet by virtue of the virtual reality technology; invoking the local discharge module and the detecting instrument module to perform simulation detection of local discharge detection so as to acquire simulation detection data; and monitoring operating conditions of the switch cabinet by virtue of the simulation detection data.
