Implementing Design For X Tools

This chapter discusses a generic framework for implementing Concurrent Engineering (CE) by combining the focused application of Design for X (DFX) tools with extensive use of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). This framework is referred to the DFX/BPR shell. It provides a dynamic approach to transforming product development from a problem-prone sequential engineering environment to a problem-free concurrent engineering environment.
