Implementation of a Mixed Coding for SAR Image Based on Wavelet Transform

The synthetic aperture radar imaging which has emerged many special characters in contrast to the ordinary optic imaging,is widely used in many domains increasingly. However,the SAR image which be created in airplane or satellite is so large that it is inconvenient to transmit and store,thus how to compress the SAR image efficiently becomes a very important problem in the practical application. Through studying and analyzing the method of cutting HF and default threshold coding on wavelet coefficients ,this paper present a image mixed coding based on wavelet transform,and applies it to the coding of SAR image,which achieves high compression ratio and fidelity in result.
