Studies on Road Traffic Noise Based on Models of Traffic Flow

Abstract In this paper, the exponentially distributed vehicles model in which attenuation effect of noise is taken into consideration was treated in the first place. The mean and the variance of sound intensity and approximate expression for mean of sound pressure level (SPL) were derived. Secondly, the mean and the variance of sound intensity based on an Erlang distribution model were derived. Approximate value of mean of SPL at an observation point on the road was also obtained.
