The Moebius strip and a social choice paradox

Abstract A remarkable topological property of the Moebius strip is equivalent to the Chichilnisky impossibility theorem in social choice theory, which states the impossibility of finding a continuous, anonymous and unanimous aggregation rule for two agents, defined on the unit circle.
