Investigation of flow field of methane-air the secondary explosion

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the generation mechanism of the secondary explosion and its influence factors. The experiments of explosion venting to the air were performed in a cylindrical vented vessel connected to a duct. The clear time sequential shadowgraphs and pressure-time histories of the external flow field were obtained. Based on those experimental results, the conditions of the secondary explosion generated were analyzed and its variations of influence factors under different venting conditions were also discussed in detail. And then the variation of the intensity of the secondary explosion wave under the corresponding venting conditions was analyzed.
