Diagnostic Applicability of Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy in Psoriasis Vulgaris

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM) in psoriasis vulgaris.Methods The lesions of 40 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 45 patients with other skin diseases were examined by CLSM,and the diagnostic value of CLSM to munro microabscess,parakeratosis,psoriasiform hyperplasia,and the tortuosity and extension of dermal papilla blood capillary were analyzed.Results The diagnostic sensitivity of CLSM to munro microabscess,parakeratosis,psoriasiform hyperplasia,and the tortuosity and extension of dermal papilla blood capillary were 92.50%,95.00%,75.00%,75.00% respectively,and the diagnostic specificity of them were 97.78%,57.78%,84.44%,75.56% respectively.Conclusion Munro microabscess is important index in the diagnosis of psoriasis vulgaris with CLSM.
