Design of a secure software-defined access network for flexible Industry 4.0 manufacturing - The SESAM-project concept

In order to address the major challenges of a flexible manufacturing process, the concept for a secure software-defined access network, based on RF, as well as optical wireless technology is presented in this paper. The so-called EchoRing and spatial diversity concepts for a robust horizontal handover, as well as an SDN-based concept for low-latency vertical handover are described.
