On repositioning of the M-sequence lane markers system in highways and applications in intersections

This paper describes repositioning performance of the PN coded lane markers (PNCLM) positioning system. In highways and open roads, after the determination of the code length and an arrangement method of the PN code (M-sequence), two types of repositioning schemes, that is, the scheme using distance information, and the scheme using distance and angle, are compared. The number of average markers for repositioning turns out that it is not dependent on the code length. Moreover, the performance for repositioning using radio markers is better than that of magnetic markers. The standard deviation is dependent on the run property of the used M-sequence.
