Effect of ammonia concentration on rumen microbial protein production in vitro

Abstract We review key findings of one the most cited papers in the 75-year history of BJN. We then identify important consequent developments, as well as opportunities to use analytical and molecular biology advances to maximise conversion of non-protein nitrogen into microbial protein.
