In this report, models are presented for calculating aerosol particle penetration through straight tubes of arbitrary orientation, inlets, and elbows. An expression to calculate effective depositional velocities of particles on tube walls is derived. The concept of ``maximum penetration`` is introduced, which is the maximum possible penetration through a sampling line connecting any two points in a three-dimensional space. A procedure to predict optimum tube diameter for an existing transport line is developed. An interactive menu driven software entitled DEPOSITION has been developed to perform above said tasks. This code can either be used on a PC or on a mainframe. The use and illustration of the software is described in Appendix A of this report.
