Public Participation in Shaping Better Road Users in Malaysia

Abstract Road traffic accident frequently involves multi-level society and this has become a demanding community issue where more serious participation is needed to improve driver's attitude in the future. Accident has a significant impact on quality of life and financial burden to the government and society. Currently, there was limited local evidence supporting the elements of driver's attitudes. This conceptual paper will explain the construct of sensitive, valid and reliable attitude assessment which can be used in screening and re-evaluation of licensing process in Malaysia. Dynamic Malaysian road society will helps the government in producing better road users in the future.
