Ultimate Strength of Deep Beams in Shear

AN INVESTIGATION IS DESCRIBED OF THE BEHAVIOR AND ULTIMATE SHEAR STRENGTH OF 26 SINGLE SPAN SIMPLY SUPPORTED REINFORCED CONCRETE DEEP BEAMS HAVING DIFFERENT DEPTH-SPAN RATIOS. THE BEAMS WERE TESTED BOTH UNDER CONCENTRATED (AT A SINGLE POINT AND TWO POINTS) AND DISTRIBUTED LOADS. BASED ON THE OBSERVED BEHAVIOR AND STRENGTH, AN EQUATION IS PRESENTED FOR PREDICTING THE ULTIMATE SHEAR STRENGTH OF DEEP BEAMS. /AUTHOR/
