FMS Real time scheduling and control with expert system techniques

Abstract The paper deals with a rule-based real-time scheduling and control expert system (ES) for EMS. The new scheduling rules were proposed, in which the ES can schedule production when no-inputs or full-outputs (blockings) take place. Evaluation Petri Nets were combined with Predicate/Transition Nets, Coloured Petri Nets, High Level Petri Nets and Petrillo Nets, to propose the new Extended High Level Evaluation Petri Nets (EHLEP-N) which are more suitable for modelling FMS. Merging the ES with the EHLEP-N leads to more descriptive. inferential and decisive power. As a result of them. the ES has met the demand of production.
