Error Performance Analysis for Turbo Coded Optical Wireless On-off Keying

On-off keying (OOK) is the main modulation method used in the present optical communication engineering,simple and easy to implement. But its bit error rate is so high that error correcting coding techniques are necessary. After analysis of Turbo decoder and coding algorithm for OOK, the effects of the number of iterations,frame size and restriction length on the bit error rate are analyzed and simulated. The results show that bit error rate of OOK modulation system can be improved greatly by Turbo code.
