Project-based Learning in Structural Engineering - a Study

Current practice in the area of Structural Engineering education is examined along with issues of concern raised by practitioners, professional bodies and educators in this area. The use of project-based learning as one means of overcoming some of these concerns is discussed. These issues have formed the background to a study currently being undertaken into the effectiveness of project-based learning in structural engineering education. The development of the study, including the theoretical framework and the measures or effectiveness being used are presented.
