In this study,a railway subgrade strengthening design system was developed based on object-oriented,visualization,and database management technology.The system consists of four modules(the database management module,the conventional design calculation module,the finite element calculation module,and the feedback analysis module) and can be used to effectively classify and manage the mass data during the calculation process.The finite element method complemented the layer-wise summation method in this study.These two methods can realize simulations of the natural foundation and composite foundation,solve problems that cannot be settled by conventional methods,and improve calculation accuracy.The feedback analysis based on the neural network method and the finite element method can not only achieve the inversion of the subgrade soil mechanic parameters and improve the calculation accuracy of the railway subgrade reinforcement design,but also predict the consolidation settlement of the subgrade.The application results show that the railway subgrade design system improves the conventional calculation model.The whole calculation process is completed by the user-computer interface which can guarantee the efficiency and quality of the subgrade reinforcement design.The results also indicate that the system has great practicality.
