Research social networks are a potentially useful resource f or studying science and technology indicators from specific co mmunities (e.g., a country). However, building and analyzing such networks bege t challenges beyond those from regular social networks, since data about a ctors and their relationships are usually dispersed across various source s. In this paper, we present a research social network built from an individual p ers ective by gathering data from a Brazilian curricula vitae reposito ry. We describe its architecture and the solutions adopted for data collect ion, extraction and deduplication, and for materializing and visualizing the n twork.
