Research on Key Technologies for a Virtual Cockpit Display System

According to the requirements of actual flight simulation system,based on the advanced aircraft cabin display system development experience,a virtual cockpit display system has been developed by using a Virtual Reality(VR)technology and professional graph development software.The architecture of the virtual cockpit display system is presented in the paper.Key technologies for the Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles(UCAV)control platform,as well as dynamic radar image displays in the multi-function display(MFD)subsystem are studied.Also,key technologies for target acquisition and lock-on and the superposition of headup display(HUD)information over the scene are discussed.This system has many merits,such as high fidelity,real-time displaying,information display standardization,warning information classification,modularization,higher growth capability,etc.Especially,the development of the UCAV control platform and dynamic radar image displays enhances the pilot′s situation awareness(SA)ability.The virtual cockpit display system is at the leading position in the domestic similar systems,and is already used in actual flight simulation system applications.
