Position determination method and system of wireless communication equipment

PURPOSE: A method and system for determining a position of a mobile terminal are provided to correct and minimize a distance error caused by a repeater. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal receives each base station signal and transmits the received information to a receiver of a position error correcting unit(301). The receiver of the position error correcting unit obtains a propagation delay time value of each base station signal, searches base station information stored in a database, determining a cell radius value of a corresponding base station and calculates a corresponding standard delay time(302,303). A controller of the position error correcting unit compares the determined standard delay time value and the propagation delay time value of a received signal(304). If the controller determines that the received signal has passed a repeater, it searches repeater information of the database, determines a position of a repeater, a time delay value of the repeater itself, and a time delay value according to a transmission line(306), replaces a position of a mother base station with the position of the repeater(307), and corrects a radio delay time value of the received signal(308). When every signal are completely processed(309), a position calculator determines an accurate position of the mobile terminal by using the propagation delay time value(310).
