Treatment of material discontinuity in meshless methods for EM problems using interpolating moving least squares

One of the main difficulties with meshless methods applied to electromagnetic problems is the treatment of material discontinuities. To deal with them, the present work makes use of the Interpolating Moving Least Squares (IMLS) in the Element Free Galerkin Method (EFGM), instead of the frequently used Moving Least Squares (MLS) approximation. The positive aspects of this treatment are the reduction of the field oscillations generated by the discontinuities and the easiness in imposing essential boundary conditions.
