Utveckling av förrådsverksamheten på Unilever Bestfoods i Helsingborg

Problem description – Recent changes has brought about new needs as well as new demands on the operations of the warehouse. The current system is very resistant to change and there is therefore a tendency for the processes to not change at all. As a result there is an increasing risk that the operations of the warehouse will grow more and more out of date. Objective – The aim of this investigation is to map the operations of the warehouse at Unilever Bestfoods in Helsingborg. Our objective is to, based on our investigation as well as the literature, give suggestions on how to improve the processes and in addition to this analyse possible effects of an inventory management system. Method – We have chosen to perform a case study, which means that we have studied the specific case of the technical store at Unilever Bestfoods in Helsingborg in depth. This gave us the opportunity to investigate the processes of the technical store in detail. Conclusions – We recommend that Unilever Bestfoods implement an inventory management system. It is our belief that all processes and routines should be looked into in connection to this. This gives the technical store the opportunity to satisfy its customers needs in the future. An inventory management system enables a more thorough control, which will lead to decreased capital tye-up.
