Distributed and cloud computing from parallel processing to the internet of things by Kai Hwang, Geoffry C. Fox, and Jack J. Dongarra

I wanted to review this book because I was interested in expanding my knowledge of distributed computing and learning the new models behind the buzz term " cloud computing. " This is a survey book on some of the topics that make up distributed computing and some examples of some different models. P2P and the Future Internet. I can see this being used in a class as the primary text book for a distributed processing course. The best approach for this is to use the book as a topic starter and then expand upon it with some programming or design project. My goal with this book was to get a snapshot of the current state of distributed computing and see how it connected to some of the models and systems from ten years ago. I was disappointed to see the book does not provide this type of information. The content of the book is fairly high level intended for managers rather than developers.
