독일의 Industry 4.0추진현황 및 IT기반의 조선생산 시스템의 연구동향

Industruy 4.0 is a German government’s high-tech strategic planning project to sustain its leadership in the manufacturing industries. The objective is the intelligent factory or smart factory, which can be characterized by adaptability and flexibility, resource efficiency and ergonomics, and the technological basis are the internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical System (CPS). As the term “Industry 4.0” refers to the fourth industrial revolution, it goal is to revolutionize the manufacturing industry by the integration of the Information & Communication Technology (ICT). The idea of revolutionizing the traditional industry by the integration with fast-growing ICT is not new. The goal of the many IT-based ship production systems researches have sought similar objective with industry 4.0, such as flexibility, adaptability, and high productivity. In this presentation, the manufacturing system that the industry 4.0 pursues is compared with the future ship production system that many IT-based ship production researchers have imagined. Their similarities and differences are discussed in the viewpoint of the industry 4.0 concept. How the concept and key elements of the industry 4.0 can be applied to the ship production system is also discussed.
