ANALYSIS OF PHASE ANGLE DIFFERENCES APPLICATION TO IMPROVE THE SPS COMPLEX PERFORMANCE

This paper concentrates on the results of simulation of phase angle difference application with ref- erence to the Russian Far East Interconnected Power System. The paper evaluates a suggestion regarding the improvement of the Zeya Special Protection Scheme (SPS) complex, which is based on the results of a full-scale ex- periment on the angle differences measurements. EUROSTAG software has been used to analyze the possi- ble methods for reinforcing the power system emergency control. An uncommon way to improve the SPS perform- ance with traditional principle of functioning has been investigated. The results of simulation of the dynamic braking efficiency at the Zeya Hydro Power Plant with the use of angle differences are discussed.
