Fault tree analysis of terrorist attacks against places of worship

This paper focuses on the analysis of terrorist attacks against soft targets, especially attacks against places of worship with the use of Fault Tree Analysis. The main target is to find out final probability of occurrence attacks against places of worship (inside of the object). This method in particular provides an analytical evaluation of the basic characteristics of these attacks and probabilities are included. In order to create the diagram, we gathered the details of terrorist attacks against soft targets in the European Union from the years 2000 to 2015. We checked manually each case and we created specific database of these attacks. This analysis can be used as a detailed informative overview about terrorist attacks on places of worship. Places of worship are highly attractive for terrorists in compare with other soft target's objects. There are minimum security measures so success of potential attacks is very likely.
